Laurel County Sheriff John Root says deputies noticed a man on a riding lawnmower on 192 crossing the I-75 overpass. Officers pulled the man, later identified as 71 year old James Evans of London, over and smelled alcohol on him. Evans reportedly told deputies he had been drinking and was riding from the liquor store. Evans was charged with DUI – third offense, operating on a DUI suspended license and careless driving. He also had warrants out on him for failure to report on DUI, domestic violence, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest and cruelty to animal charges. He was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
