The Barbourville Police Department says officers arrested two women after one of them was caught shoplifting. Officers were called out to the Dollar Mart where Wilma J. Emert shoplifted $10.60 worth of merchandise. The store manager claims to have caught her in the act. Emert was in the store with Glencina M. Wilson, who had been banned from the store in the past. Police say Wilson knew she was not allowed in the store, but she still went in with Emert. During the investigation, officers learned the women left two kids alone in a vehicle. The two children, both under the age of 10, were alone in an unlocked vehicle with the engine running. Emert faces charges for shoplifting, public intoxication and endangering the welfare of a minor. Wilson is charged with criminal trespassing and endangering the welfare of a minor. Both were lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
