Senior Night will be held for the North Laurel Jaguars Boys Basketball team on Friday February 15th. Also being honored on the 15th will be the seniors from the National Champion cheerleading squad and the seniors from the dance team. North Laurel's Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 Tournament came to an end yesterday as they were defeated by Rowan County 64-46. North Laurel Fans and Coaches alike were very happy to represent Laurel County in the State Tournament.

The North Laurel Jaguars won the 13th Region last night in an overtime game against Clay County 54-52. Marcus Carson was named Tournament MVP. The Jaguars will play Rowan County next Wednesday at Rupp Arena at 12 noon!
PHONE SCAM REPORTED IN LAUREL COUNTY
Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. E. R. Rudder is investigating a scam where a phone caller is attempting to gain personal information from persons by telling persons they will attempt to help them remove "bugs" from their computer. The caller is requesting personal information from people's home computer, and that the information is needed over the telephone. The sheriff's office is reminding everyone that they should not give out any personal information about themselves, or their computer to unknown persons calling. According to Laurel County Judge Executive David Westerfield, FIREWORKS can still be used in the County! The stipulations are that you must wet the area down where you are shooting the fireworks and must have a water hose or fire Extinguisher around in case of fire.RED, WHITE AND BOOM IS STILL ON! According to the London City Council, the event will go on as planned but Mayor Troy Rudder and the council urges you to stay hydrated and the Rescue Squad will have a mobile setup in place but understand the temps could be higher than 105 degrees.
LONDON VOTES NO TO PACKAGE ALCOHOL
A majority of London's residents voted against package alcohol sales in the city during Tuesday's election.
There were 958 "no" votes and 801 "yes" votes.
TORNADOES HIT LAUREL COUNTY
Tornadoes hit the Northern part of Laurel County Friday night. Old Hare Road down past Hwy 25 was damaged very badly by the storms. Reports of victims trapped, even deaths are being reported. As of today, the National Guard along with Emergency personnel was on the scene to help victims with many shelters open for them.
